The fellowship program is sponsored by the Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. A maximum of 60 scholarships for the German Chancellor are awarded each year, and a maximum of 10 scholarships for each country.

Application Deadline

The scholarship is open for applications from March 15th to October 15th each year. Outside of this period, you can register for the next round of applications; when the next round of applications starts, you will automatically receive an email notification.

This scholarship for future leaders, will take you to Germany to implement your own project ideas in one year. We will help you establish contact with future international leaders here and find new answers to the global problems of our time. We provide you

The monthly scholarship funding amount is 2170 Euros, 2470 Euros or 2770 Euros, depending on the level of training and occupation
Before you start taking a German course, you need to have an intensive language course,
Personal support while in Germany
Additional financial support, such as accompanying family members, travel expenses, full private health insurance or additional German courses
The joint activities allow you to have professional and personal cross-cultural exchanges with other members of the school year, and gain a deep understanding of German culture and society.
Network activities enable you to collaborate in peer groups and independently organize smaller networks with other researchers,
A two-week study tour in Germany and a series of activities. In these activities, you can connect with other students and meet representatives of German companies and institutions
Extensive alumni sponsorship, especially to support you in establishing long-term relationships with your partners in Germany throughout your career
Your receiving institution will receive a monthly research allowance of 500 Euros.

Fellowship Program Details PDF

Before applying, you should discuss the details of your project with the host of your choice.

Please submit the necessary application documents online to the Humboldt Foundation.

Motivation letter: tell us what your motivation is, what leadership experience you have and what your career goals are
Project plan: outline your own development project before applying, and agree with your target host. Why does your project have social significance? How will you build a bridge between Germany and your home country in the future?
Detailed statement, including guidance agreement from the German host
Two letters of recommendation (not more than 12 months), personally providing information about your professional, personal and/or academic background (Information on letters of recommendation)
